Licensed the Way Florida Actually Requires It
Security licensing in Florida works in two layers, and it’s worth knowing the difference before you hire anyone. Individual officers need a Class D license to work unarmed, and a Class G license on top of that to carry a firearm — both issued by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) under Chapter 493. The company itself needs a separate Class B security agency license, which requires a minimum of $300,000 in general liability insurance. All Star Security Services holds Florida Class B license, and every officer we place is individually Class D or Class D/G licensed. You’re welcome to verify any Florida security company’s status yourself through the FDACS license search before you sign anything.
